About Us

Women Economic Empowerment Nexus of Afghanistan Organization (WEEN-AO)  is a non-governmental, non-profitable and non-political organization officially registered at, and licensed by the Ministry of Economy Afghanistan. The organization was established in a critical situation for Afghan women in December 2022 by Mrs. Soodaba Afghan, an entrepreneur and former senior civil servant of the Afghan government, and is led and supervised by a group of highly qualified women with years of experience in private and public sectors in Afghanistan. 

This group of qualified experts and experienced individuals have served years for the empowerment of women and have been influential women in the private sector with extensive experience as leaders, executives, and policymakers for the Afghan government and international organizations community in Afghanistan.

WEEN-AO serves as an institution to identify, train, promote, support, rationalize coordinate, and women entrepreneurs through any initiative that leads to women's economic empowerment, job creation for Afghan women, promoting awareness and capacity building, for the sustainability of Women-owned MSMEs, supporting women-led startups, unregistered women-owned businesses, women-led NGOs, and enhancing the overall meaningful participation of women in social and economic activities in Afghanistan. At WEEN-AO, we rely on our core competencies, resources, unified vision of our trustees and members, and an enhanced network of stakeholders to achieve our goals and objectives. 

Our key beneficiaries are Afghan women, Women-owned MSMEs, and women-led NGOs that are in need to be supported for securing a sustainable income source and economic empowerment, work for livelihood, business diversifications and growth, vocational training, capacity buildings, and advisory services. We are also committed to support university graduate Afghan girls who need a job for livelihood and/or need vocational training and internships to enhance their capacities to meet the requirements of the job market, and those visionary Afghan women willing to become entrepreneurs. We also work with social and local entities on promoting awareness for Afghan women rights and their engagement in the communities for the sustainable growth.
